Expansion Joint Repairs
We regularly perform repairs of fabric expansion joints which may involve anything from a patch over a small hole (as shown at right), a partial belt replacement, up to a complete belt replacement. Occasionally repairs to the mounting frames (as shown below) are required. We have repaired holes in rectangular metal expansion joints using overlaying metal bellows sections as well as elastomeric repairs (when temperatures allow). We generally recommend against repairing round metal expansion joints (because of the thin nature of the bellows) and rubber expansion joints (because of the high pressure that is usually involved). Flex Connectors are usually less expensive to replace than to repair. |
