Expansion Joint Surveys

Expansion joint surveys are ideal tools to assist in maintenance planning for all types of industrial plants.   Surveys are best suited to power plants, although we have successfully surveyed chemical plants and oil refineries.

Our surveys include a thorough walkdown of all plant systems while your unit is in operation.  We believe that expansion joint failures are much more noticeable during operation and it also allows us to inspect insulated expansion joints for leakage using infra-red technology (as shown at right).

We generate a unique computer-drawn flow diagram showing all expansion joints.  On the flow diagram, expansion joints are color coded for condition, red for failed, yellow for damaged but not necessarily failed, and gray for questionable.  Digital photographs are taken to show (and prove) all findings.  The survey report is provided in a bound format which includes all data, photographs, and maintenance action items.
